Pressure injuries affect an estimated 1 to 3 million in the United States annually. Physical and occupational therapy practitioners can play an essential role in the early identification and prevention of pressure-related injuries, including addressing risk factors such as immobility, malnutrition, and sensory loss.
This course provides non-wound care therapists with an understanding of how pressure injury scores are used and how to interpret results. The instructor also covers the latest evidence on pressure injury prevention techniques that can be incorporated into the therapist’s treatment plan.
